If you are a a climber local to eastern Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire, or Rhode Island who wants to be an active leader in preserving your local climbing climbing area, please consider joining our team! We are a true coalition of smaller groups and individuals who care and advocate for our local climbing areas. Our voice as climbers is stronger as one!

About SNECC

Our mission is to preserve (protect, maintain, and establish) rock climbing areas in our region for present and future generations of climbers.

SNECC was started in the spring of 2017 by New England climbers. We are a non-profit completely run by volunteers.

We are a true coalition of smaller groups and individuals who care and advocate for our local climbing areas. SNECC, while founded in pursuit of access projects in Peabody, MA, realized early-on that small, local climbing spots are truly appreciated by only a precious few individuals. Some of these individuals realized that working together across the region in numbers will be more effective. A unified voice to protect our much loved local spots. The climbing areas in the southeast New England region are mostly small, local, or sometimes regional destinations. We have the opportunity to join together and take advantage SNECCs 501c3 status, membership and network for fundraising, as well as things like insurance and corporate status! Regional collaboration baby!

The Board of Directors is currently comprised of individuals and groups from the Lynn/Peabody area, the Cape Ann area (Cape Ann Climbers Coalition), Townsend/Ayer area, and most recently the southern New Hampshire area including Pawtuckaway (Pawtuckaway Climbers Coalition). These “chapters” of SNECC operate with at least one member on SNECCs Board who is responsible for reporting to the Board at regular intervals, and participating in the day-to-day administrative duties for the chapter.
